Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra stated that Thai tourism is a key GDP driver, especially during the transition of Thai industry towards digital transformation. This requires increased growth in both tourist numbers and per-capita spending through infrastructure development, tourist safety, and transportation improvements. This includes developing Man-made Tourism to attract global tourists, enhancing Thai cultural festivals with creative elements, and organizing new world-class festivals encompassing music, food, and art, as well as becoming a sports center and Entertainment Complex, which the government is promoting as tools to boost Thai tourism growth. To strengthen advantages, create distinctiveness, and gain competitive edge in attracting tourists amid global economic volatility and various uncertainties, the government has declared 2025 as Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025.

Mr. Suang Theintong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, announced that Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 aims to attract 39 million international tourists and generate total tourism revenue of 3 trillion baht, enabling the tourism industry to serve as a tool for creating and distributing income to the people, improving living standards, and leading to sustainable growth. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has integrated with relevant agencies to expedite facilitation measures to create positive experiences at every step and enhance tourism experiences in all dimensions, including increasing flight seats and frequencies for seamless travel, providing TM.6 online services, upgrading transportation systems connecting to tourist attractions in both major and secondary cities, such as airport improvements, enhancing public mass transit standards, developing tourism personnel, and encouraging operators to upgrade sustainability standards.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports places high importance on promoting safety, including crime prevention, accident prevention, tourist facilitation and assistance, and tourist compensation, to build confidence in tourist travel, reflecting Thailand's readiness and potential to become a World Class Destination, a major landmark for tourists worldwide.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said that Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 will be a truly grand year offering special experiences to tourists.
